Softworks launches online HR & Payroll discussion forum

Press Release: 06 August 2002
Softworks Computing, developer of time & attendance management solutions, has launched a new online discussion forum. Designed especially for HR and payroll professionals, The Forum offers the facility to post questions on topics of interest, respond to previous questions, publish research findings and make them available to interested parties.

These discussions can cover virtually anything about the ongoing challenges facing HR & payroll professionals. Messages can take a variety of forms, such as exchange of information or opinions, sharing of knowledge, questions and answers and calls for help. To date, topics posted have included flexible working arrangements, absenteeism, 'buddy punching' and issues relating to employee legislation. According to Adrian Thornton-Willis, UK manager, "as well as providing a useful tool for HR & payroll professionals, The Forum will help Softworks to determine which issues are top of the HR/payroll community's business agenda, and to better determine their future needs."

As part of this initiative, Softworks is also running monthly online opinion polls and surveys on various hot issues affecting the industry.

We used to have to work out all the shift enhancements and calculate the entitlements to be paid manually. Now we don't have to do that because the Softworks solution does it all for us. I think we must save at least two days each 4-weekly pay period through not having to make all the manual adjustments
