Ever Wish You Could Be One Step Ahead of Yourself?

Real-time attendance information delivered directly to the desk top, when and where it is needed

Softworks have launched a new addition to its suite of Time & Attendance / Flexitime solutions, called The Alerter Module. A proactive management tool, the Softowrks Alerter Module allows users to receive urgent, event triggered alerts regarding employee time keeping, overtime, absences etc. via email as well as timed tasks such as reminders to set up return-to-work interviews, run weekly / monthly reports etc.

The Alerter Module can be used by HR managers and supervisors to set reminders of approaching deadlines, to benchmark performance of one department against another, to improve decision making and ultimately to save time by automatically emailing managers with regular time and attendance information.

"If you have ever forgotten to run an essential report for your monthly management meeting, or missed sending a weekly email update, the Alerter Module will help to keep you one step ahead of yourself by pushing relevant information directly to your, or to a colleague's, desk top," says Andrew Ferguson, Managing Director of Softworks Ltd. Avoiding the "it would have been nice to have known that beforehand" scenario, HR Managers and supervisors will always have relevant, accurate, real-time employee information to hand so they can be proactive and take appropriate action as necessary, he added.

HR managers can stay on top of absence levels by receiving reports that, for example, track employees who are absent for more than five Fridays in a given period. This will enable them to quickly spot trends and individuals guilty of frequent short-term absences that are costly to any business. As another example, supervisors can keep an eye on punctuality and improve management of rosters and shifts by receiving daily reports at 9.30am showing all employees who have not clocked in for work.

A secure and easy to use addition to the Softworks suite of offerings, the Alerter Module enables users to set up any business rules, from simple to complex, based on the reporting structure and needs of each organisation to deliver time and attendance information when and where it is needed.

About Softworks

Established in 1990, Softworks has concentrated its efforts on the management of time since its foundation. Softworks is an innovative provider of powerful, versatile and easy to use Time & Attendance and Workforce Scheduling Solutions. Softworks recognised the considerable amount of time being spent by industry in calculating payable hours, together with the lack of information on employee attendance, absence and overtime. This led to the development of our "Wise" suite of software, which is suitable for all types and size of business.

Softworks provides solutions for any workforce matrix, regardless of the mix of salaried, part-time, hourly, flexitime staff or their work styles all in one system. Softworks has developed a unique system of "exception based" computerised timesheets, for companies with high levels of salaried employees where the culture is not to clock, as well as Web/PC based login/out facilities for employees on flexitime, removing the cultural bias towards "clocking".

In early 2002, Softworks was recognised as Europe's fastest growing supplier of Time & Attendance and Flexitime Solutions and for the third successive year, we have been listed in the Irish Deloitte and Touche Fast 50 awards as one of the fastest growing technology companies in Ireland.

We used to have to work out all the shift enhancements and calculate the entitlements to be paid manually. Now we don't have to do that because the Softworks solution does it all for us. I think we must save at least two days each 4-weekly pay period through not having to make all the manual adjustments
