May 2009 - NIHE Shortlisted for UK Pay Award
Northern Ireland Housing Executive, in association with Softworks, Shortlisted for UK Best Absence Management Strategy Award
The Northern Ireland Housing Executive, in association with Softworks, has been shortlisted for the Best Absence Management Strategy Award in the UK Pay Awards 2008.
It goes without saying that the NIHE have approached their absence management strategy wisely. They have viewed the solution implementation as an evolutionary process, not just a one-time implementation project. The Housing Executive has successfully used the implementation as an opportunity to update processes and to introduce best practice in the area of absence management.
According to Peter Magill, Northern Ireland Housing Executive “From the outset we recognised that small changes in processes, practices and systems can have significant, measurable impacts in terms of hard savings and productivity improvements. Already we have managed to reduce our absentee rate by 0.52% which is a reduction of 4250 day’s annually for the NIHE”.
Softworks, having nominated the Housing Executive for the award are delighted with the outcome. “To get to the finals of the Pay Awards is a great honour and we feel that the NIHE should be applauded for their commitment to introducing an effective absence management strategy. We wish them the best of luck at the finals which are scheduled to take place on the 11th of November in London” Amanda Wade, Head of Marketing and Communications, Softworks.
